The Empire Builder makes it’s way slowly over BNSF Scenic Sub. through the most beautiful mountains in the country.
I decided to record from the cab with the camera sitting on the dashboard of the P42’s desktop controls. While sitting at Olds Jct on a red, we stepped outside the cab to watch and inspect BNSF’s eastbound manifest go by as we continue our journey west for Seattle, WA.

I was performing songs at the Miss Asia/Pacific Beauty Pageant 08. I’m the piano player (had recorded the song on the keyboard on the prior run) Practiced for yonks with my original singer who pulled out a couple of days before the event. Then with desperation I got together Claire who was a friend of one of the conestants and John a friend of a friend and quickly came up with this lil collab. The main song is ‘Stikwitu’ from PCD and John sings a verse from ‘I wanna know’ from Joe and they both sing Stikwitu in the chorus and bridge. The actual performance was bangin’. Hopefully i can get my hands off the broadcasting station that filmed the event.

“Just south of the equator and 86nm (160km) north of Australia, Papua New Guinea (PNG) is part of a major chain of mountains stretching from Asia, through Indonesia and into the South Pacific. This former Australian Trust Territory boasts more than 600 islands and more than 800 indigenous languages which is one-third of the worlds total languages. It is home to the largest area of intact rainforest second only to the Amazon. Its beauty stretches from the jungle-clad mountains of the highlands region to the white sandy beaches and atolls of the coastal and island provinces.
“Most flying in PNG are conducted strictly under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) with essentially unpressurized equipment making it all the more difficult to fly over high mountain ranges. Navaids are a rarity and unreliable due to non-maintenance although GPS is mostly used by small airline operators. For communication, bushpilots communicate with airstrips and in-flight using Single Side Band High Frequency (SSB HF) radios.”
